Spring 1

This half term we have been reading the book Gorilla by Anthony Browne in English. In Maths, we have been reading scales on thermometers and learning to tell the time. Please keep practising this at home. We have been practising how to spell high frequency words too. In Science, we have discussed what we need to survive and about the human life cycle. We have also learnt about animals and their offspring. In Art, we have been studying digital media. In Geography, we have learnt all about the weather in the UK and made rain gauges.

Have a lovely half term!

Autumn 2

We have had a very busy half term in Year 2. We have been writing lots of letters to different crayons linked to our English text ‘The day the crayons quit.’ In maths, we have practised adding, subtracting and multiplying by 2,5 and 10. We have just started learning to divide too. In our History lessons we have learnt all about different types of transport from the past. We also had a great time on our class trip to Leyland Commercial Vehicle Museum. To finish off, we performed our Nativity play ‘I’m gonna shine’ to all our family and friends. We worked really hard learning lines, actions and songs and we all did a fantastic job. Have a wonderful Christmas!
