This half term has been very busy indeed! In English, we have been reading the class novel ‘Holes’ and have been looking at the flashbacks in it. We also wrote an explanation about yellow-spotted lizards (which are found in the Holes novel). Finally we have written the story of the Chinese New Year in preparation for our class worship.
Autumn Term 2019|
This term we have been busy learning about China and writing a non-chronological report. We have started drawing using one-point perspective and observational drawing of Chinese landmarks. In Science, we have been learning about the heart and blood. In computing, we have discussed the importance of strong passwords and why they should be kept private.
During English, we have read detective stories and have written a story with Sherlock Holmes as the detective. We have also learnt about the features of biographies and have researched and written a biography about a person of our choice.
In maths, we have recapped and extended our place value knowledge and have completed work using long multiplication and long divison.
We are settling in well to our new class and routines. Even though we have only been in school just over a week, we have been very busy! In maths we have been going over place value or numbers to 10000000. In English we have started looking at detective stories and in DT we have designed and written instructions for making our moving toy. As an entry point to our geography topic - All about China - we shared our homework with the class.
