AUTUMN 1

Well done Team Spain what a super first half term we have had together!

The Reception children have quickly embraced school life and the Year 1 children have shown they are ready for year one.

In maths, our year 1 children have been learning how to add and subtract using a number line. In maths, our Reception children have been sorting objects in different ways and began to measure using ‘Maths talk’. The Reception children have enjoyed learning the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’ off by heart. During English lessons, the year 1 children have been reading the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and have started to write their own versions of the story. In science, we have learnt all about different materials and investigated which materials are waterproof and which are not. We have also enjoyed exploring the season autumn in our school forest area. During RE we have found out about how Christians celebrate harvest and how other faiths celebrate harvest.

Thank you for such a super start to the year Miss Sweeney and Mrs Charlesworth.
