Dear Parent/ Guardians,

Now that we have come to the end of the summer term, I would like to say a huge thank you to you all for all of your support and good wishes. It hasn’t been an easy academic year and in fact it has been the most unusual that we have ever seen at St.Leonard’s. I do feel though, that despite all of the difficulties that we have had to encounter, it will have made our school family even stronger. We have had to learn new ways to communicate and practise our learning. We have had to support one another and really pull together. I speak on behalf of all the staff when I say a big thank you for everything that you have done at home. Home schooling is very difficult; you have all undoubtedly, done an amazing job, in a variety of challenging circumstances.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all for the really generous, gifts, cards, cakes, poems and lovely messages that you have sent. It has meant such a lot to us.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our wonderful year 6 children. We are so proud of them in every way. They have been especially brave in accepting that their end to year 6 has not been the same as it should have been. They are all very mature and stoical and I am certain that these qualities will serve them very well in the future. I know that our year 6 children will do exceptionally well at high school in a variety of ways and that they have a great future ahead of them. We will miss them all and their families.

It has been really wonderful to see many of you coming to school over the recent weeks in order to collect things and using our lending library. We are all really looking forward to seeing you in September and starting a very busy but exciting new school year. I wish you all a wonderful summer and a really good rest.

Kindest regards

K A Proctor

We received a letter from Rt Hon Nick Gibb who is the Minister of State for School Standards. He was writing to congratulate St Leonard’s on our outstanding achievement in the 2018 phonics screening check.

In 2018, 97% of our pupils achieved at least the expected standard  or greater, in phonics. Mr Gibb was writing to express how delighted he was for our school. He also explained that due to our excellent results, St Leonard’s is in the top 6% of primary schools in the country for phonics.

Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you to St.Leonard’s C.E. Primary School. Here at St.Leonard’s we pride ourselves on being a family. We have a strong belief in our partnership between home and school.

This website is intended to introduce our school to you, providing you with information regarding our aims, administration and general organisation. The information should answer any immediate questions and offer details which should prove helpful throughout the academic year.

We are extremely proud of all our achievements at school ranging from academic success to a variety of sporting awards. Most importantly we are proud of our children who leave our school confident, well rounded people ready to go to High School. This is all achieved through our excellent relationship with our parents and Parish community.

I would like to thank you for taking time to look at our website and hope that you enjoy finding out about the exciting things we do at St.Leonard’s along with important information you may need.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs K A Proctor
