Dear Parents and guardians,

We hope you have a had a lovely half term week in this beautiful sunshine. We hope you are now all aware that Lancashire County Council announced that it is not safe for schools in Lancashire to re-open on June 1st as not all of the government’s 5 tests have been met. We will continue to inform you of any changes/updates from the government and local authority.

We have remained open over the half term for the children of ‘Key Workers’ and will continue to provide emergency childcare for all key workers who require this provision. If you have not already informed us that you wish to access this care, please email .

The new home learning timetable is available on the school website and has a variety of family tasks for you to complete. We look forward to receiving your lovely photographs of your work on the dojo system.

We wish you all a lovely weekend.

Kindest regards

Kay Proctor

We received a letter from Rt Hon Nick Gibb who is the Minister of State for School Standards. He was writing to congratulate St Leonard’s on our outstanding achievement in the 2018 phonics screening check.

In 2018, 97% of our pupils achieved at least the expected standard  or greater, in phonics. Mr Gibb was writing to express how delighted he was for our school. He also explained that due to our excellent results, St Leonard’s is in the top 6% of primary schools in the country for phonics.

Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you to St.Leonard’s C.E. Primary School. Here at St.Leonard’s we pride ourselves on being a family. We have a strong belief in our partnership between home and school.

This website is intended to introduce our school to you, providing you with information regarding our aims, administration and general organisation. The information should answer any immediate questions and offer details which should prove helpful throughout the academic year.

We are extremely proud of all our achievements at school ranging from academic success to a variety of sporting awards. Most importantly we are proud of our children who leave our school confident, well rounded people ready to go to High School. This is all achieved through our excellent relationship with our parents and Parish community.

I would like to thank you for taking time to look at our website and hope that you enjoy finding out about the exciting things we do at St.Leonard’s along with important information you may need.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs K A Proctor
