Courageous Advocacy in Action
Courageous advocacy is the act of speaking out again injustice, often on behalf of those who are unable to speak for themselves. It involves being informed about an issue, taking action and challenging injustice. Courageous advocacy can help transform communities, relationships and ourselves. It can also include protecting the rights of those who are helpless, inspiring others to be courageous advocates and instilling Christian values.
This year we have introduced the Year of Service. Service is one of our Christian values and as a school family we recognise the importance of demonstrating kindness to others which is reflected in our school vision. We have challenged the children to take action to help others outside of school. Please complete the following form and return to school when your child has completed their act of service. In recognition, the children will receive a star badge and their courageous advocacy act will be detailed below.
Maddison in Year 2
Maddison showed great bravery when he dad became suddenly ill in the car. Maddison got out of the car, stood at the side of the road and flagged down a car to help her. Thankfully, a lady did stop and helped Maddison's dad get the help he needed. We are so very proud of Maddison for her bravery. What an inspiration she is to others.
Miss Carroll
Miss Carroll pledged to run 30km throughout September for the charity - SANDS - the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. This is a charity that has supported some of our members of staff. Miss Carroll went above and beyond her target and raised £300. She also completed 40km of running! Well done Miss Carroll.

Gracie Whitbread

After our Vision Day 2023, Gracie wanted to do something to help other people. She decided to walk 10,000 steps every day in May to raise money for a charity that looked her Grandad before he sadly passed away. She managed to raise £190 for Mariners Home. She presented the money to the home's manager and senior nurse manager in the summer holidays. What a fantastic achievement Gracie! You are truly an inspiration to us all.
