The School Day
The compulsory school times are 8.55am to 3.30pm. This equates to 6 hours and 35 minutes per day which is 32.9 hours over the week.
8.45am | School bell rings, doors are opened, and teachers should be in class to greet the children. Children from breakfast clubs are sent directly to the classrooms by the breakfast club staff. |
8.55am | Registration in all classes – mark school registers and send back to the school office by 9.05am. |
9 - 10.15am | Teaching session 1 KS1 - spelling and English KS2 - guided reading and maths |
10.15 - 10.30 and 10.45 - 11 | Morning Break – K.S.1. Children have fruit and milk. K.S.2 children are allowed to bring fruit in to eat at break times or access the school toast option. |
10.30 - 12pm | Teaching session 2 KS1 - guided reading/phonics/maths KS2 - spelling and English |
12 - 12.05pm | Class Worship- children pray in class. Prayers are linked to Christian values and thanking God for the food we eat. |
12.05 - 1.05pm | Lunch time |
1.05 - 2.15pm | Teaching session 3 |
2.15 - 2.30pm | Afternoon break time |
2.30 - 3.30pm | Teaching session 4 |
Whole school worship takes place on a Monday and Friday morning 9.00 - 9.30am.
