Canada Class

Canada class have had a very busy but exciting half term.

In English we created our own stories and newspaper reports based on our model text named The Caravan.

In maths we have been learning about place value, rounding and estimating along with subtraction and addition.

Our history unit was all about the cotton industry and the affect it had on the local area. The children also learned about the links that the trade had with America and about the slavery involved in the production of cotton.

In art the children have been looking at the work of Antoni Gaudi - especially his Salamanders and they have used sketching and collage skills to work in small groups to produce their own pieces in his style.

Year 4 were lucky enough to lead our school worship for the harvest festival. We were blessed with dry weather to get us to and from church. Despite not having a practise in church before the service, along with no sound system, all of the children were amazing.

We performed a song from the service on Grandparents' Day and this can be found on the website.

We are looking forward to another busy but exciting half term ahead.
